United Elementary School's P.R.I.D.E. program is a school-wide approach to keep school safe while promoting positive behavior. The key to the program is prevention, not punishment. Students learn about behavior, just as they would learn about subjects like math or science. Staff members all over the building look for students showing exemplary behaviors which are rewarded with a P.R.I.D.E. ticket. Tickets are placed on the "Principal's 200 Club" board and the recipients receive small incentive prizes. Students are also recognized during the morning announcements and their parents/guardians receive a call regarding the positive behavior. The P.R.I.D.E. program (Positive attitude, Respect, Integrity, Dependability, and Excellence) is a way to teach, acknowledge, and promote appropriate student behavior and its positive influence on the United community.
